English:
A spectator selects a card frome an ordinary deck. A blank piece of paper is shown, crumpled into a ball, and dropped into an empty tube. Then a friendly skeleton is introduced. A pencil is placed in his hand, and he is set on top of the tube. Suddenly, the skeleton comes to life and starts writing ! When he stops, he is removed, and the paper drumped out. on it is written the name of the selected card. The tube is otherwise empty. The Haunting is cute, original, and very commercial magical effect. The sight of the skeleton writing away is a riot. Combine this whit a very clever piece of apparatus does most of the work, making this easy to perform and allowing you to devote all your intention to preformance.

Review:
What a disappointment! The Haunting was one of the last Tenyo tricks missing in my collection, so I had dreamed, fantasized, imagined every angle and since no video is available of the effect I was more inclined to imagine the most incredible mechanisms can make it work. Finally when I had the magic in my hands the disappointment was huge. So yes the whole design is really beautiful and original. The drawings that adorn the box are very successful, well-chosen color and the skeleton is really too cute. The problem is the gimmick that is really basic, the ingenuity of the creator is probably lost in a black hole. In addition, as sometimes in Tenyo products, the plastic makes a horrible noise that makes it virtually impossible to perform the trick when it comes to activate the gimmick (If you are a bit handy you might find a solution to reduce the noise). Basically we have here a sub-version of an Ultra Tube. The system to move the skeleton is also very basic and not really practical to present without arousing suspicion. Fortunately, the movements are still realistic and we really feel that the skeleton is writing something when he starts to move. It's clear that the skeletal structure has been studied in detail and with care so that every member of his body and every bones remain properly on the box and move so perfectly smooth during the presentation of the routine. Despite this positive aspect, the rest of the mechanism is very disappointing and it's a shame because it was really easy to create a gimmick a bit more successful and intelligent and this trick would have been really great. You are warned, do not expect an incredible mechanism, and finally this trick is more like a cute toy has a real magic trick. Really sad but all is not lost because, thanks to its successful design, you will be able to do something good, if you can find a nice little story to tell during the presentation.

Development story:
At Tenyo the visual attractiveness of the product is a constant preoccupation of the teams of designers. This was especially true when products were packed in transparent blister pack: the visual impact was so often the point of departure of the inspiration of the designers.
"The Haunting" offers the unique show of a miniature skeleton carrying a pencil, a show intended exactly to arouse the interest on the place of sale; and, naturally, the interest of the spectators when the buyer will perform the magic trick. The Haunting is the visual translation of this often usual effect in the magic of mentalism: " a spirit appears and writes some words ". It is always a moment of glory for Shimomura, big fan of the history of the magic to be able to adapt great classic of the magic in a contemporary way.
